Gas Tips-USA Weekend-Great Money Saving Article July 24, 2008

Filed under: COOL SITES, MISC, Tips/Tricks — PinkMama @ 7:10 pm

This article gave me some great sites and advice: http://www.usaweekend.com/08_issues/080720/080720save-money.html.  You really need to check it out.  I’m going to post the tips they offered every day for the next 9 days.

Here is a quick overview of some of the GAS tips:

* The Discover Open Road card offers a 5 % rebate on gas and car maintenance up $1200 annually.  (Good idea but I don’t want to open another credit card account, too many already)

* Go to BedandBreakfast.com for a list of B&B that have deals.  (Now maybe I can get the hubby to go to B&B for our anniversary in Sept)

* Bookit.com offers half-price gas cards and flight credits up to $200 on some packages.

* Join Choice Hotels’ Choice Privilege’s program and, after 3 stays you can receive a $50 gas card.

* Price-Shop: go to GasBuddy.com to get best prices wherever you go-just enter your driving info.

* Share a ride- check with carpoolworld.com or eRideShare.com to connect with other drivers or passengers.

Do you forget Birthdays? June 16, 2008

Filed under: COOL SITES, MISC — PinkMama @ 6:44 pm

I forgot my dad’s birthday this year.  Not good!

If your like me then you need this site: http://www.birthdayalarm.com/

Best part is it’s FREE!  You can also send e-cards.

I got this info from the Tyra Banks Show (don’t laugh).  I was interested in the show because they talked about simplifying your life.   They discussed several different ideas/items/how-to’s so I did get a lot out of that show.

Gas Prices-OMG! June 4, 2008

Filed under: COOL SITES, MISC — PinkMama @ 2:49 pm

I paid $4.35 (regular) today.  All I can say is WOW!
My mom told me about http://www.gasbuddy.com/ and I will be checking that next time because a couple miles down the road I would have paid $4.22.  All you have to do is type in your zip-code and it gives a list of stations and prices.

I won’t get into a big rant about this but DANG, every day the prices are going up when will it STOP or even slow down.

This summer my kids and I will be using public transit to get around to all the fun summer things to do.

Forever Stamps

Filed under: MISC — PinkMama @ 7:16 am

Stamps go up to .42 on May 12, 2008.   I know a penny isn’t much but it’s all about the FUTURE.  With the rising gas and grocery prices it might not be long before we pay $1.00 for a stamp to mail a letter.  But the FOREVER stamps are forever 41 cents!  So you might want stock up on the Forever Stamp at the current rate of 41 cents.

Featuring the Liberty Bell image and the word “forever,” the stamp will be good for mailing one-ounce First-Class letters anytime in the future — regardless of price changes.

No Posts~ Sorry! April 24, 2008

Filed under: MISC — PinkMama @ 5:48 pm

I went camping with my 2 kids and my mom for a couple days.  I brought my laptop because the campground advertised they had WIFI so I just assumed I would be able to connect online with no problem.  Ummm NO!  WIFI costs $25.00 a day well I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay that fee.  Love blogging, checking email, and being online but $25 was way too much for me, lol!  I did put in $40 at the arcade in Santa Cruz and I felt good about that because my kids had a blast.  Off to find some deals.

Bedrooms-Husband vs Wife February 26, 2008

Filed under: COOL SITES, MISC — PinkMama @ 11:27 am

I think men and women have different ideas on how to decorate the bedrooms.  Well at least in my house.  I would love a romantic room but I think my husband wants our room to be his MAN CAVE.   We just got our tax return and the first item bought was a 37 in flat screen for our room.  I know wonderful huh, well it wasn’t for us, it was for him to play his XBOX 360.  I think my plans for a romantic room will not be happening.   I will be checking online on how to decorate a MAN CAVE for the wife, lol!

I guess I can try to incorporate some of these romanantic ideas thru out the room: http://www.findlove-keeplove.com/romantic-bedroom.html and he can have his gaming area.
