Children’s Books Read Online February 29, 2008

Here is a very unique site that actually reads storybooks to your children. I came across this site last week and have found it to be quite good! My kids love to be read to and ask me a lot over the course of the day to stop what I am doing and read to them. This site allows me to maybe start … or finish something and the kids still get a storybook read to them. Of course, nothing replaces having someone sit and snuggle and read to their kids, but this sure helps in-between! I think this is worthy of being published today and hope you enjoy and feel the same.

Top 20-American Idol 7

I watched both shows last night (thanks DVR). I really enjoy to see what everyone was going to do for the 70’s! I was very impressed with a couple of the contestants. 70’s music is FUN and some of the songs that were chosen I was very confused. Some big voices picked some horrible songs!
 My Favorites:

I love Brooke’s voice. She played her guitar to “You’re So Vain.”. Randy Jackson said, “It was a great song choice for you.” Paula Abdul said, “I feel like this was the perfect song choice for you.” Simon Cowell said, “Brooke, I absolutely loved it.”

This week Chikezie sang ‘I Believe’ by Donny Hathaway. No orange suit this week but he still got a little ping at Simon on what he wears.  Randy said “Chikezie is back! That was blazing.” Paula said, “It was brilliant. It was fun.” Simon said , “You looked better. You sounded better. It was a million times better than last week.” I really enjoyed the song!

David Cook sang ‘All Right Now’ by Bad Company. He performed this song by playing the electric guitar. He is definitely a rocker. Loved what he did this week. Randy said, ” You are a real rocker. I really kinda believed you.” Paula said, “You got it. It was very smart, very fun and very relevant to who you are.” Simon said, “It was solid and sorta believable.”

David Archuleta is a sweet young kid that sang ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. WOW! This was a great performance. Paula even cried! Randy said, “Dog, that was one of the best vocals I’ve ever heard on this show.That was brilliant.” Paula said ” I want to squish you, squeeze your head off and dangle you from my rear view mirror.” Simon said, “You’re the one to beat. There are 19 very miserable contestants.” He is going to be hard to beat!
Now for my FAVORITE OF THE WEEK:

I enjoyed David Hernandez version of ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’ by The Temptations. Actually I should say I LOVED IT!
Randy said, “This is the David Hernandez we fell in love with. That was hot right there!” Paula said, “Your voice is so pure. Your personality came out this week. ” Simon said, “The best vocal of the night so far.”
Tonight we find out who get kicked off!

As a wife/mom I’m always trying to save money.  Actually it feels so good to be able to tell my husband we saved $85.00 at the grocery store.  Every day I’m researching for coupons, bargains, and how-to’s so I want to share some of the tips I use plus more!  

*Use coupons!!!  Great saving money resource.  I cut out coupons from the newspaper and print out from Internet. Great sites to go to for coupons:

Banana Split Parfaits February 26, 2008

Prep Time:30 min

Total Time:3 hr 30 min

Makes:8 servings

1 cup cold milk
1 pkg.  (4-serving size) JELL-O French Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding and Pie Filling
2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided
24   NILLA Wafers, divided
2 small bananas
8   maraschino cherries

POUR milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Gently stir in 1-1/2 cups of the whipped topping; spread into 8-inch square pan. Freeze 3 hours or until firm enough to scoop.

CHOP 16 of the wafers. Spoon scant tablespoonful of the chopped wafers into each of eight parfait glasses or dessert dishes. Scoop 1/4 cup of the pudding mixture into each glass with ice cream scoop; sprinkle evenly with remaining chopped wafers.

CUT bananas in half lengthwise, then cut each piece crosswise in half. Stand 1 banana piece in each parfait glass. Fill evenly with the remaining 1/2 cup whipped topping, remaining 8 wafers and the cherries. Serve immediately.

Bedrooms-Husband vs Wife

I think men and women have different ideas on how to decorate the bedrooms.  Well at least in my house.  I would love a romantic room but I think my husband wants our room to be his MAN CAVE.   We just got our tax return and the first item bought was a 37 in flat screen for our room.  I know wonderful huh, well it wasn’t for us, it was for him to play his XBOX 360.  I think my plans for a romantic room will not be happening.   I will be checking online on how to decorate a MAN CAVE for the wife, lol!
