I did my first day w/FlyLady January 29, 2008

Filed under: PARENTING — PinkMama @ 12:17 pm

I’m not doing the emails or everything she suggests, yet!  I’m doing her baby step program.

Yesterday~worked on the ZONE (living room).  I moved my living room around.   I was able to OPEN the room up more and now my kids can get to their toys/activities easier.  I felt real good after all that cleaning.  My sink stayed clean ALL DAY.  It was so nice waking up to a clean house (downstairs).  Now I need to conquer the upstairs.

DAY 1~DONE!  Felt good.

I’m doing this for 1 week and see how it helps me.

Love Tips~Show your honey they are LOVED!

Filed under: Uncategorized — PinkMama @ 12:08 pm

I was reading Redbook.com and came across Daily Love Tips. These ideas are not CRAZY or OUTRAGEOUS so guess what I might actually be able to do a couple for my hubby. I know I tell my hubby I love him everyday but do I always SHOW him, probably not. Valentines day we shower our loved ones with love but we actually should do this ALL YEAR LONG.

*Let your honey pick the next movie rental. If you give him free reign, he’ll probably make sure to pick something you will both enjoy.

*Show each other your appreciation. Maintain eye contact when you talk, hold hands…Find as many ways as you can to say that you’re there.

*Fondue is made for a cold winter night. Dip fruit, marshmallows, cake, and nuts in chocolate. Don’t forget to drizzle a little on each other’s sugary spots so you can lick it off!

*Meet your partner after work tonight and instead of going home, head to a hotel! Order champagne and strawberries and treat yourself to lovemaking sans inhibition.

*Touch is an essential part of bonding and intimacy. Check out some couples-yoga moves in Partner Yoga.

*Go on a movie date. It doesn’t matter which one you see because you’ll be sitting in the last row making out like teenagers!

*Let your partner know what song puts you in the mood by sending him the mp3. He’ll listen to it at work and think about how it turns you on.

*Everyone could use a little encouragement. Start the day giving your man a quick hot kiss and a smack on his booty on your way out the door.

*Everyone is short tempered from time to time. Commit to holding your tongue for a count to ten before you react. This intentional pause is likely to save a lot of energy, time, and feelings.

*Steam up the bathroom with your morning shower and write a suggestive note to your partner on the bathroom mirror.

*Indulge your honey with a favorite dessert. This nice surprise gesture will likely result in different kind of after-dinner treat for you later on!

*Help your honey relax by giving him a foot rub. If you need a primer, check out How to Give a Foot Massage.

*Perfect your puckering by spending an evening doing nothing but sliding into first base.

*Give your babe a full-body hug when he least expects it. Studies show that hugging and cuddling release oxytocin, a bonding hormone.

*Declare a chunk of the day “technology free.” Turn off the cell phone, computer, TV, and anything that requires electricity or a battery.

*A healthy relationship depends as much on time apart as it does on time together. Make plans with the girls and let your honeys join you later. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

*Hit the town for date night. The twist is that you each have only $10 for the evening. Your imaginations will guide the evening. Romance is priceless.

*An important part of a loving relationship is taking good care of yourself. Treat yourself to anything that makes you feel alive.

*Great foreplay includes anticipation. Pop off a few playful emails to your honey throughout the day.

*Create a code word to use in public when you’re feeling hot and bothered.

*While your sweetie is in the shower throw a few towels in the dryer so when his toes hit the cold bathroom floor he’ll have something nice and warm.

*It’s a great time for nesting. Make your bedroom a sacred retreat. Ban overhead lighting and create mood with candles and table lamps.

*Set the stage for a doubly bubbly evening. Fill the tub with super-hot bubbly water and uncork a cold bottle of champagne. Spend the evening relaxing.

Microsuede 4pc Comforter Set~ $34.99

Filed under: SHOPPING DEALS — PinkMama @ 11:06 am

Microsuede 4-piece White Duck Down King Comforter Set

List Price: $140.00
Price: $34.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.
You Save: $105.01 (75%)

Several colors to choose from.

I love my microsuede comfortable because it is so warm and soft.

Add a soft, luxurious touch to your bedroom decor with this down comforter set, which comes with a matching bed skirt and two pillow shams. Designed by the professionals at NewPoint Home–who know a thing or two about soft–the comforter is made of 100-percent down with a luxurious microsuede cover. The cozy, warm fill is the best natural insulator around, making it great for a short springtime nap or a full winter night’s sleep. Meanwhile, the deluxe, suede-like exterior feels so comfortable against the skin that you’ll find yourself drifting to bed hours before bedtime. Another bonus stems from the comforter’s box construction, which keeps the down from shifting each time you toss and turn–a real plus compared to many down comforters. The twin version of the comforter measures 86 by 63 inches, the full/queen comforter measures 86 by 86 inches, and the king/California king comforter checks in at 86 by 101 inches. Each set also includes a customized bed skirt that fits the specified bed size (twin, full, queen, king, or California king) and is available in one of eight fashion colors, including navy, black, brown, chestnut, sage, taupe, red, and khaki. Finally, the comforter, bed skirt, and shams are dry-clean only.

Procrastination Pointers January 28, 2008

Filed under: ORGANIZATION — PinkMama @ 10:58 am

Procrastination is my biggest problem.  I should be cleaning right now for example!  Maybe this article will help me, lol!

I got this from  http://www.CreativeHomemaking.com

Procrastination is one of the biggest enemies we have to our Personal Productivity. Thinking about doing something and planning to do it are fine, but what if we fail to move ahead?

Procrastinating the unimportant items in our day is a useful talent. The problem for many, however, is that we are procrastinating the important and crucial items in our day, reducing our personal productivity and increasing our stress levels.

Here are five pointers to help you to better overcome procrastination. (You can implement them now or perhaps tomorrow.or better yet, next week.)

1. Daily planning the night before. “People don’t plan to fail but they sometimes fail to plan”. Without a plan of action in place before you arrive for work it is real easy to get caught up in “stuff”. The phone rings, someone drops by and you direct your time responding to the loudest voices demanding your attention rather than to the most important priorities on your plate. A plan of action, prepared the night before is like a roadmap for the next day. You know what your next step ought to be to get you into productive action and away from procrastination.

2. Work with a clean desk. “Out of sight, out of mind.” The reverse of that is just as true. When it’s in sight, it’s in mind and most of us cannot help but be distracted and our time is then directed to the less important and easier tasks causing us to put off the more important tasks. Working with a clean desk or clean work environment permits us to have only the most important task before us so that we can focus all of our attention on that task without other visual distractions.

3. Reduce large projects to bite-sized pieces. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Tomorrow you plan to work on a three-hour project. The problem is, many of us do not get three hours to work on any one item. We have to contend with interruptions, meetings, etc. (I don’t know that I even have an attention span that lasts for three hours!) And we often wind up procrastinating working on this task because “there’s not enough time to get this done”. So, instead of scheduling the entire three-hour project for tomorrow, schedule a small bite, a step or two that might take 20 or 30 minutes. Then put the next step on the next day’s To Do list and the next step after that on that next day’s list, etc. It may take several days, but you will get that elephant eaten up, one bite at a time.

4. Plan around interruptions. Interruptions tend to occur in identifiable patterns. I get most of my interruptions early in the day versus later in the day. I get most of my interruptions early in the week versus later in the week. So, if I plan a big project first thing Monday morning, I’m creating stress because as soon as I begin, interruptions arrive and re-focus my attention causing me to procrastinate what I really wanted to do. It is so much easier swimming downstream with the current rather than bucking the tide. Therefore, I plan those larger projects for later in the day and later in the week when I tend to get fewer interruptions.

5. Assign deadlines. Have you ever failed to achieve a New Year’s resolution? If so, that probably happened because you did not set a deadline. Deadlines move us to action. Without a deadline, things wind up in our “as soon as possible” pile, a “Never Never Land” where items will get attended to “someday”, “when I get the time”. Create a deadline and you will be moved to action.

Prison Break Season 2~$25.00

Prison Break - Season Two (2005)
List Price: $59.98
Price: $25.00 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.
You Save: $34.98 (58%)

TODAY ONLY!!!

Season 2, taking place outside prison walls, doesn’t have the claustrophobic tension of season 1; instead, it becomes one long Fugitive-esque chase, which lost interest every time it kept shifting to different characters’ storylines. There are more baits-and-switches than you’d care to keep track of, and more than a little suspended disbelief. But the intriguing center of the drama will always be the way Michael’s forced to think on his feet when his grand plans hit their snags, whereas in Fox River he was most assuredly in control (it also forces Miller’s stoic acting to loosen up a little). Moreover, his unexpected feelings for Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), who was found overdosed in her apartment at the end of season 1, further complicates Michael’s disappearance plans. The DVD includes several candid commentaries by cast members and show creators, and an Easter egg that alludes to the “death wall” (number of casualties) the show’s writers kept in production offices.

Movies on iTunes~ Wow!

Filed under: ENTERTAINMENT — PinkMama @ 12:48 pm

This might be my only way I can watch movies in my house.  My son and husband have the other TV on lockdown with their Playstation2/XBox 360.

You can download movie rentals!  http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/movies.html

Standard-definition movie rentals are $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. And for just a dollar more, you can rent HD movies directly from your widescreen TV via Apple TV. Rent a movie and you have 30 days to start watching it. Hit Play, and you have 24 hours to finish it — or play it as many times as you want. Rentals disappear when they expire, so they won’t take up storage space on your hard drive.

 Have fun!

Are YOU living in CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome)~love this!!! January 26, 2008

Filed under: ORGANIZATION — PinkMama @ 7:33 pm

I’m on a mission TO GET ORGANIZED by 2009.  I’m taking one step at a time.  So I’ve been doing a little research online and was reminded about Flylady.net.  There is a wide selection of information on this site. I plan on using the sample routines FIRST.  I love the first question she asked on her site Are YOU living in CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome)….hmmm, yes!    It’s not like I have food stuck to the walls or dirty diapers on the floor but I do have clothes on the couch and dishes in my sink.  I want to live CLUTTER FREE.  My 900 sq feet house is telling me I have way too much stuff.  I’m going to give Flylady a shot for one week at least.
